Those of you who have been around here a while know I'm a SAMPLER fanatic. I love a good sampler - it teaches you something with each block and I love getting to make a new block every time I sit down to work on the project.
I was thrilled when Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson invited me to design a block for the follow up to their wildly successful book, The Splendid Sampler. The second volume (The Splendid Sampler 2) will include another 100 blocks from 80 designers and will be available in mid-October. But! The fun starts in June.... there are 20 free blocks that will start releasing early. See the Splendid Sampler website for all the details. Will you sew along?
Pre-Order the SS2 below (affiliate link) or if you need something sampler-y to keep you busy until June, you can always try the original Splendid Sampler or another fabulous book, Sister Sampler Quilts. *wink wink* (Signed copies of my book are here.)

"all I need is fabric and coffee. and maybe chocolate too. yeah, definitely chocolate. let's create!"

I love to watch the sun disappear over the wooded hills of the lake we frequent. The slow decent of the sun and the arrival of the stars made me want to design a quilt with many stars twinkling on the soft and almost neutral-colored sky during the golden hour. Sewing with strip piecing methodology made light work of this larger sized quilt. Meet the Sunset Strip Quilt Pattern!
