EQ Ambassador 2018

February 7, 2018

I am honored to be chosen by the Electric Quilt Company to be their Brand Ambassador for 2018 alongside Kerry Goulder.  I have been designing with EQ since the very beginning of my design career.  I cannot even imagine designing without it.  I started using EQ7 in 2010, and am so excited to discover and share the new utilities of EQ8 with you over the course of 2018.

Moccasin Block of the Month Sampler

I am a self-taught EQ user and I enjoy figuring out how to use different softwares at my own pace. I learned to use EQ by digging into the user manual, online tutorials, and by becoming a frequent caller of their user helpline in the early days.  :)  Back in 2010, I regularly found myself talking to Penny McMorris, the co-founder of EQ, on the help line.  The staff at EQ is always patient and helpful.  They offer classes too for those perhaps not as stubborn as myself.

Chocolatier Block of the Month Sampler

I am probably best known for my non-traditional use of EQ for making Block of the Month programs and Samplers.  I admit I have been manipulating EQ7's grid to make interesting samplers that lean toward modern quilt designs.  I am most excited about EQ8's Custom Settings going forward with my samplers and BOMs.  The Custom setting lets me drag and drop blocks wherever I want on the quilt top.  This is a big change from the grid I was constrained to previously.  These BOM programs are a ton of work, but I am already working on designs for next year!

Join me this year to learn more about EQ8 and other products EQ offers.  Use the code EQ8CHANY to save 20% off any product, including EQ8.  Visit EQ here.  Can't wait!
