Chocolatier Block of the Month Club #10 (Argyle Hourglass Blocks)

Chocolatier Block of the Month Argyle Hourglass Blocks Are you ready for the rainbow?  Month 10 of the Chocolatier Block of the Month Club is available for the making! This month we are moving onto making some of supporting blocks that help give this quilt it's WOW factor.  Now hold up, before you get started, I have to share the good news/bad news for the month.

The Good News:  We are in the last few months of the BOM.  We're done with the LeMoyne Star and are making complimentary blocks to supplement our array of sampler blocks.  We have two patterns left before we assemble the quilt top for Month #12 of Chocolatier!

The Bad News:  We have A LOT of work ahead.  This month begins the ramp up.  We have 8 Argyle Blocks to make this month.  They are not tough - hourglasses (see video tutorial if needed).  They are definitely a bit more time consuming when you increase the quantity we need to make.  Don't worry about keeping up.  Just work at your own pace.  This quilt will be beautiful when it's done!

Fabric is Cotton Supreme Solids by RJR Fabrics for my version of the BOM.  Find my color selections listed here.

Chocolatier Block of the Month Club #9 (Drunkard's Path and Maple Leaf Quilt Blocks)

Chocolatier Block of the Month Quilt Blocks #9 by AnneMarie Chany
We're rolling right into September with these ruby red quilt blocks. Red is still my favorite color most days, sometimes I switch to orange. ;)  So I'm loving these blocks.  Month 9 of the Chocolatier Block of the Month Club is available for you to make if you are on top of your game with the BOM.  This month we have the last of the block pairs that reside inside the LeMoyne Star.  The remaining months we have quite a bit of work to do, as we get close to putting this quilt top together.  Enjoy this last lazy month where there are only 2 blocks to make.

Today, the Month #9 Block Pattern for Chocolatier is now available.  Check your emails and mailboxes!

We have the Maple Leaf and the Baseball (Drunkard's Path) quilt blocks this month.  The latter uses a few curves.  If you are new to curves, don't worry!  Here is a video tutorial for you to teach you the basics.  Practice makes perfect - so try a few curves on some practice pieces before giving it a go on your actual fabric.  These curves are small for 6" blocks, so the practice will be helpful.

WHAT IS A HOOP QUILT?

Hoop Quilts are a spin on finishing a mini quilt.  They use a large wooden quilting hoop wrapped in fabric to give the project a finished look.  The photo above shows a few Hoop Quilts.

A basic quilt block is framed inside a pieced circle to make the quilt top.  There are four curves to sew.  Don't worry - I'll walk you thru it if you haven't sewn curves before.

Check out the #hoopquilt hashtag on Instagram to see many HOOP QUILTS I've made.

PATTERN IS BASED ON 5" CHARM SQUARES OR SCRAPS
