This quilt has been a long time coming - a Scrappy Irish Chain Quilt block quilt takes forever! Not to mention I put it aside and it became a WIP for a few years, lost in the depths of my sewing room.
It's bright and uses all my best bitty bits of scraps. The 12" blocks chain across the entire quilt, intersecting 4 scrappy stars in the middle.
I backed this quilt with flannel to make it super comfy, as those quilts become favorites during cold fall and winter nights.
I usually send most of my quilts out to my local long arm quilter, but for some strange reason I decided to quilt this one myself. AND I chose to do straight lines about 1/2" apart. Oh my.. Next time I need to space them out a bit.... it took forever! But I sure do love the texture it gave the quilt in the end.
This quilt is off to a friend who needs some comfort right now. Every time I talk to him, he'll ask me how my knitting or tapestry business is going - maybe this will remind him what it is I actually do. lol

I cannot get enough of the Gatekeeper Quilt. It takes on a different personality with each version I make. This is my 4th Gatekeeper. I just keep coming back. It’s construction is made up of squares and rectangles only. Add strip piecing to boot… It’s an oldie, but goodie. Here is the Nautical Blues version of Gatekeeper.
